The Guardian reported comments from Immigration Minister Anna Turley defending plans for up to 1,250 asylum seekers at the former military site near Piddington. Turley said the site would be self-contained and argued that former military sites were more appropriate than hotels. She also said the Government would consider infrastructure and what communities could reasonably accommodate. For WPWS, this is particularly relevant because those are precisely the areas where the campaign is asking Government to publish the Site A evidence.

New figures show a substantial fall in the number of asylum seekers being accommodated in hotels, as the Government continues its move towards alternative accommodation.
