Oppose the proposed asylum accommodation centre at MOD Bicester Site A
The Government is proposing to use MOD Bicester Site A to accommodate approximately 1,250 single adult male asylum seekers.
We are a community-led, non-political campaign bringing together residents from Bicester and the surrounding villages. We believe a proposal of this scale must be supported by clear evidence, proper planning and meaningful consultation with the communities it will affect.
Our campaign is about the proposal, the process and the suitability of the site – not the individuals who may be accommodated there.

The proposal is being progressed through an Urgent Crown Development process and is expected to accommodate approximately 1,250 people. The Government has indicated that the site could remain in use for at least ten years.
Why we oppose the plan
Our concerns are practical, evidence-led and community-focused
We believe the Government has not yet demonstrated that this is the right location for a development of this scale.
The campaign is seeking clear answers about:
Roads and transport
The site is surrounded by rural roads, with limited footways, lighting and public transport. Historical planning evidence also raised serious concerns about pedestrian safety and the isolated nature of the location.
Infrastructure and public services
The Government must demonstrate that water, wastewater, electricity, healthcare, emergency services and other local infrastructure can safely support the proposal without harming existing communities.
Health and safeguarding
The Government must demonstrate how safeguarding will work both for people accommodated at Site A and for surrounding communities, including women, children and vulnerable people.
Transparency and consultation
Decisions affecting communities should be made with them, not imposed upon them. The Government should publish the evidence behind the proposal and provide residents with a genuine opportunity to be heard.
Accountability
A development involving multiple agencies needs clear lines of responsibility. The Government should explain who owns each risk, who monitors mitigation and who is accountable if measures fail.

We welcome support from people of all political views. Our shared concern is that decisions of this importance should be lawful, transparent, evidence-based and made with proper regard for local communities.
We are committed to challenging the proposal firmly, responsibly and respectfully.

The campaign is already making solid progress. A team of community volunteers has come together to gather evidence, challenge the proposal and prepare for a possible legal challenge.
