Government could pay higher rents to spread asylum accommodation across UK

The report says ministers are considering allowing higher rents to be paid for private accommodation as part of a broader move away from asylum hotels. Greater use of dispersed private accommodation would sit alongside proposals to use former military sites. It is useful background to the national debate over whether very large accommodation centres are the right solution compared with more dispersed alternatives.
