Wrong Plan. Wrong Site. has officially launched its fundraising campaign, giving local residents and supporters a direct way to help strengthen the campaign against the proposed use of MOD Bicester Site A for large-scale asylum accommodation.
The campaign has been built and run largely by volunteers, but challenging a proposal of this scale requires access to specialist expertise.
That means legal advice. Planning expertise. Technical evidence. Independent research. Professional support.
These are all areas where the Government and its agencies have access to significant resources. If the community is to scrutinise the proposal effectively, we need to be able to access expertise too.
Why are we fundraising?
The proposed use of MOD Bicester Site A raises a wide range of important questions, including transport and road safety, infrastructure, healthcare, utilities, environmental impact, site suitability, planning procedure and cost.
Many of these issues are highly technical.
Our volunteers can gather evidence, ask questions and bring people together, but there are points where specialist professional advice is essential.
Funds raised will help us obtain the expertise needed to understand the evidence, identify gaps, challenge assumptions and ensure that the community’s concerns are presented as strongly and accurately as possible.
What will donations help fund?
Donations will help us:
- obtain specialist legal and planning advice;
- scrutinise the evidence supporting the proposal;
- commission or access technical expertise where needed;
- carry out research and gather independent evidence;
- represent the concerns of Bicester, Piddington, Arncott and surrounding communities;
- cover the practical costs involved in running and sustaining the campaign.
We are also exploring the legal options available to the community. No decision has been taken to begin legal proceedings, but obtaining proper legal advice and being prepared for different outcomes is an important part of the campaign’s work.

Not everyone can give the same amount, and that is absolutely fine.
Whether someone contributes £10, £50, £100 or more, each donation helps us build a stronger evidence-based campaign.
