A question that has come up increasingly often is a simple one:
Who is Wrong Plan Wrong Site?
The answer is equally simple.
We are a community campaign.
Wrong Plan Wrong Site brings together residents and volunteers from Bicester and the surrounding villages who share concerns about the Government’s proposal for MOD Bicester Site A.
We are independent of political parties and external organisations, community-led and supported by people from a wide range of backgrounds and political viewpoints.

Independent and community-led
Wrong Plan Wrong Site is not owned, directed or controlled by any political party.
People from different political backgrounds may support the campaign, including elected representatives, but no political party speaks for WPWS or determines its position.
Residents and volunteers remain at the heart of everything we do.
Hundreds of local people have already contributed their time, skills, experience and energy to help protect our community and ensure local concerns are properly heard.
A structured campaign
Although WPWS is community-led, it also has a clear organisational structure.
A leadership group provides overall strategy, priorities and oversight, while volunteers work across a number of specialist workstreams, including:
- Research, evidence and technical
- Communications, creative and media
- Events, volunteers and operations
- Legal and planning
- Finance and administration
This structure allows volunteers to contribute where their skills and experience are most useful, while keeping the campaign coordinated and accountable.
Independent stakeholders
The campaign also works with a wide range of external stakeholders.
These can include parish and community representatives, councillors and MPs, advisers and experts, local businesses and organisations, lawyers and solicitors, and other people with relevant knowledge or experience.
Their advice, expertise and support are welcome.
However, they remain independent of WPWS and have no operational or decision-making role within the campaign unless they are themselves formally part of the campaign structure.
Governance and accountability
Bicester Countryside and Communities CIC provides the governance and financial structure behind Wrong Plan Wrong Site.
This helps ensure that fundraising, expenditure, administration and campaign activity are properly managed and accountable.
Transparency is important to us, and we want local residents to understand both how the campaign operates and how decisions are made.
Cross-party, but not party-political
Wrong Plan Wrong Site welcomes support from elected representatives of all political backgrounds.
That support does not make WPWS a Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat, Reform or any other political campaign.
Our supporters may disagree about many political issues.
On this issue, however, they share concerns about the scale, location and potential impact of the proposal for MOD Bicester Site A.
That ability to bring together people with different viewpoints is one of the campaign’s strengths.
One community. One voice.
Wrong Plan Wrong Site exists because local people decided they wanted to stand together and make their voices heard.
Different backgrounds.
Different political views.
Different skills and experiences.
One objective.
No individual owns WPWS. No political party owns WPWS. The community does.
